Signs Your Lawn Mower Needs To Be Repaired

About Me
Beautiful Hanging Baskets

Like my mom, I’ve never been good at gardening. Sadly, I usually have extreme difficulties keeping plants and flowers alive. Surprisingly, my sister is an extremely talented agriculture teacher. Her hobby is growing flowers. My sister understands my lack of gardening talents. For this reason, she gives me a few hanging baskets of geraniums each year. She knows that these flowers are easy to maintain. Thankfully, I seem to have success growing these gorgeous flowers. They bloom nearly all year on my front porch. On this blog, I hope you will discover the easiest plants and flowers to grow. Enjoy!

Your lawn mower is one of your most important yard equipment pieces. When your lawnmower fails, you can't cut your grass and keep your landscape looking nice. Here are signs you need lawn mower repair.

Choppy grass

If your lawnmower is tearing your grass leaving ends choppy or uneven, your lawnmower may simply need new blades. You'll notice large patches of grass that don't look cut or get folded over rather than cut, or grass with split ends that turn yellow if you are using your lawnmower weekly.

You'll also notice that it takes several passes over your lawn to get the cutting you desire if the blade you're using needs replaced or sharpened. Your lawnmower specialist will replace your lawnmower blade for greater efficiency.

Smoking mower

Your lawnmower shouldn't emit black or white smoke when it's in operation. It's unsafe to use your lawnmower if it's smoking and it's not healthy for the environment, either. There may be something wrong with the motor in your lawnmower. Stop using your mower if it's emitting smoke, especially if your lawnmower sounds very loud or makes rattling sounds when you turn it on. You risk ruining your mower's motor completely if you keep using your lawnmower until it's been diagnosed and repaired.

Leaking fluid

Leaking oil or gas from your lawnmower is a sign the motor is failing. Aside ruining your lawnmower if you operate the machine while it's leaking fluids, you risk destroying your grass as spilling fluids can kill your lawn.

Try to find out where your lawnmower is leaking fluid (from the top or bottom of the equipment) and let your lawn mower repair specialist know. Don't use your mower again until it's safe to do so.

Hard starts

If it takes several attempts to get your lawn mower started or the machine sputters and operates poorly when in operation, your mower may be out of gas or operating on older gasoline. Or, the motor may be failing for other reasons. Hard starts or weak starts should not happen in a healthy lawn mower.

Don't try to fix any of your lawn mower problems on your own. You can make problems worse or put yourself at risk of getting hurt. Instead, hire a lawn mower specialist to make repairs for you. The investment you make in professionally repairing your lawn mower will allow the unit to work for many more years.
